The Asian swing continues with two eagerly anticipated ATP 500 hard-court events in Beijing and Tokyo.

World No. 1 Jannik Sinner, who is competing for the first time since winning his second major title at the US Open, leads the field as the top seed and defending champion at the China Open. Fellow Top 5 stars Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev are also in action in Beijing, where main draw play begins Thursday.

“I think I always try to improve,” said Sinner in his pre-tournament press conference. “It doesn’t really matter the results I have, what I managed to achieve, I always try to understand myself and what I have to improve off the court and on the court, all these things.”

Former Kinoshita Group Japan Open Tennis Championships winners Taylor Fritz and defending champion Ben Shelton are in action in Tokyo, where the tournament starts on Wednesday.

Fritz propelled himself to fifth in the PIF ATP Live Race To Turin by reaching the US Open final, and the US-American next aims to consolidate his position as top seed in Tokyo. Hubert Hurkacz and Casper Ruud are also in the draw.
