Ben Shelton emerged victorious at the UTS Frankfurt 2024, lifting the winner’s trophy after a thrilling final against Ugo Humbert, known as “The Commander.”

In front of 4,800 spectators at the Süwag Energie Arena on Sunday in Frankfurt, Shelton, nicknamed “The Mountain,” delivered a spectacular performance, especially in the last two quarters, showcasing his skills in the left-hander showdown.

Lars Zimmermann, whose agency Inside Out organized the event for the second consecutive year, noted the event’s growth: “We’ve raised the bar compared to last year’s edition.” He highlighted how UTS has become a recognized fixture in the tennis calendar, appreciated by players, sponsors, and fans alike. The event, launched by Patrick Mouratoglou in 2020, drew 18,100 attendees from October 18 to 20. Zimmermann praised the UTS concept for blending tennis with entertainment and providing a unique closeness to the players.

In addition to the finalists Shelton and Humbert, the tournament featured stars such as Thanasi Kokkinakis, Lorenzo Musetti, Denis Shapovalov, Gael Monfils, Jan-Lennard Struff, and Dominic Thiem. Germany’s rising talent, Justin Engel, also participated, seizing the opportunity for practice sessions with top players.
