ITF Press Release, January 23, 2025
The draw for the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifiers took place at the ITF offices in London on Thursday, with 18 teams learning their path to the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Shenzhen, China, P.R.
The 2025 Qualifiers are being played as six groups of three nations as the Billie Jean King Cup Finals transition from a 12-team event in 2024 to an eight-team event in 2025, mirroring the existing Davis Cup Final 8 format.
Each three-day Qualifiers group event will be held in one location in the week commencing 7 April and played on a round-robin basis. The six group winners will join hosts China, P.R. and 2024 world champions Italy in the 2025 Finals.
The nations finishing in 2nd and 3rd place in each group will compete in the 2025 Play-offs, alongside the best-performing teams from the 2025 regional Group I events. The Play-offs will also be contested as groups of three teams, with the group winners advancing to the 2026 Qualifiers.
Traditional home-or-away ties will return in the Qualifiers and Play-offs from 2026 onwards.
