Richard Krajicek will join the coaching team of world number five Stan Wawrinka. The Swiss announced his decision on Friday morning via twitter. The 44-year-old Dutch claimed the Wimbledon title in 1996 and is supposed to be the right man giving hints how to play on the grass.
Krajicek, who is also the tournament director of the ATP 500 event in Rotterdam, will join the existing coaching team of Magnus Norman and Yannick Fattebert for the next four weeks. Wawrinka’s best results at the All England Championships was reaching the stage of the final eight in 2014 and 2015.
“As I’m always looking to improve on court, I would like to take this opportunity to announce as of immediately that I have added Richard Krajicek to my existing coaching staff to help during the grass court season for the next 4 weeks. Magnus, Yannick and I are really excited about the new addition to our team – adding a former Wimbledon Champion can only further my knowledge and understanding of the grass,” Wawrinka wrote on twitter and added:
