Credit One Charleston Open Announces Preliminary Player Field

The preliminary player field for the 2025 Credit One Charleston Open, which kicks off the WTA Tour’s spring clay season, has been released.

Taking place from March 29 to April 6 at Credit One Stadium on Daniel Island in the South Carolina Lowcountry, the WTA 500-series event will feature 12 Top-20 players, including: World No. 4 Jessica Pegula, World No. 5 Madison Keys and World No. 8 and Charleston local Emma Navarro, all from the United States. Also, Paris Olympic Games gold medalist Zheng Qinwen, ranked World No. 9, and World No. 10 Paula Badosa, who was a semifinalist at the Australian Open earlier this year.

The field also includes five past champions (Keys, Danielle Collins, Belinda Bencic, Veronika Kudermetova and Daria Kasatkina); and three Grand Slam winners (Keys, Jelena Ostapenko and Sofia Kenin). Other Top-20 players featured include: Diana Shnaider, Beatriz Haddad Maia, Amanda Anisimova, Ekaterina Alexandrova and Yulia Putintseva. Added up, it makes the Credit One Charleston Open one of the most competitive and exciting tournaments in the event’s 25-year history in Charleston.

From Grand Slam champions to rising stars, this field highlights the best of women’s tennis on the clay courts of Charleston.”

Four additional players will join the main draw via wild card entry to be announced at a later date. Rounding out the field, six players will earn entry via qualifying draw. The nine-day Credit One Charleston showcases a singles draw of 48 players, a qualifying draw of 24 players, and a doubles draw of 16 players. The event traditionally hosts more than 90,000 attendees on Daniel Island.
