CAMPINAS/STARNBERG, March 31, 2025
At just 17 years old, Gustavo Albieri is eagerly anticipating his debut at the Campeonato Internacional de Tenis, an ATP Challenger Tour 75 clay-court tournament being held this week in Campinas, Brazil. Considered a promising talent from the city, the young player is setting aside any pressure and is excited about the opportunity to represent his region in the competition. His first match is scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st, with his opponent yet to be determined.
“This is really special for me. I’ve never played in a tournament this big, and that makes me very excited. It has always been a dream to compete here. I’ve followed the Challenger since I was a child, and now being able to play against top players is truly thrilling,” Albieri shared.

Despite his young age, Albieri is confident in his preparation. Securing a spot in the main draw, the World No. 74 in the ITF Junior Rankings has been training hard to deliver his best performance.
“I’m going to give everything I have on the court to play a great match. I trained a lot last week, and in the past three days, I’ve been working with professionals at a higher level. My main focus isn’t necessarily on winning—of course, I want to play well and win—but more on competing, experiencing the atmosphere, and feeling what it’s like to be on the court in such a big event,” Albieri explained.
The teenager started playing tennis at the age of four with his father. With the sport deeply ingrained in his life, his dream of reaching the highest level has always been clear.
“I’ve had this professional mindset from a young age—I’ve always wanted this, and I dedicate myself fully to it. I work hard, and I’m really happy with this moment in my career,” Albieri concluded.
