Kazakhstan and Poland can confirm their places in the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Finals on Friday after superb victories for both teams on Thursday. Kazakhstan overcame Australia in Brisbane and face Colombia on Friday, while Poland defeated Switzerland in Radom and now play Ukraine.

“It was such a difficult match and super happy to bring the win for the team. It’s a different atmosphere. Everyone is cheering for you and we have a great team spirit,” Kazakhstan’s Elena Rybakina said after her win against Kimberly Birrell.
Elsewhere, Czechia defeated Brazil in Ostrava while Netherlands recorded an emphatic victory against Germany in The Hague.
“It’s unreal and I have loved every minute of being here. Having this match today is just something else and I loved playing in front of the Czech fans. I loved it, and to give my country this point is really special,” said Marie Bouzkova after beating Laura Pigossi in straight sets.
The remaining two groups get underway on Friday, with Canada up against Romania to kick off Group A in Tokyo, while 2024 runners-up Slovakia play Denmark in Group C in Bratislava.
