Andy Murray and Milos Raonic will compete in Sunday’s title match of the Aegon Championships, as the top-seed from Britain defeated the tournament’s number five and 2012 titlist Marin Cilic in a clash of the champions at the Queen’s Club.

Murray fired 14 aces, winning 80% of his first service points and converted three of his 10 break point opportunities to seal victory in one hour and 58 minutes. The world number two now eyes on a record-fifth trophy at the ATP 500 event.

“A lot of great players have played here over the years, and winning any tournament a few times is hard obviously. But this one in particular has always got a very strong field,” Murray said. “I’m glad I have given myself the opportunity to try and win again tomorrow.”

Raonic defeated Bernard Tomic, winning 6-4, 6-4. The third seed from Canada sent down 12 aces, saving the only break point he faced. Raonic broke his opponent’s serve two times to celebrate his fourth victory over the Aussie in as many tour meetings.

Murray leads their Head to Head rivalry 5-3, including a five-set win earlier this season in the semi-finals of the Australian Open. It will be their first meeting on grass.

“Obviously his serve is the biggest strength in his game, so if I get any chances, it’s important to take them when they come, because there’s not going to be too many,” Murray said. The Scot claimed the London grass court title in 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015. Raonic has reached his 18th final on the ATP World Tour and is unbroken in 47 service games.

The finalist’s coaches met in the semis of the 1990 Aegon Championships when Ivan Lendl defeated John McEnroe 6-2, 6-4.
