MARBURG, June 29, 2016
Although there has been a lot of rain in Wimbledon so far, Nick Kyrgios impressed with some spectacular tennis action, hitting a tweener lob winner in his first round win over Radek Stepanek on Tuesday.
Gerald Melzer produced the same feat the same day at the Marburg Open. The 25-year-old Austrian is seeded third at the €42,500 ATP Challenger event and stunned German wild card Sebastian Fanselow with the same shot in his opening match. Melzer, who has already captured three Challenger titles this season, lost in the final round of the qualifiying in Wimbledon but won his opening encounter in Germany 6-4, 6-2 in one hour and 10 minutes.
