Novak Djokovic is looking to recover from two-sets-to-love down when his third round match at Wimbledon against Sam Querrey resumes on Saturday.

Djokovic has achieved the feat on four previous occasions, most recently against Kevin Anderson in the round of last 16 here last summer. The world number one is looking to tie Rod Laver in second place on the all-time list for most consecutive Grand Slam wins. His victory over Adrian Mannarino in the second round saw him record his 30th straight Grand Slam win and he has not lost a match at a major since he fell to Stan Wawrinka in the 2015 Roland Garros final.

Yet, Querrey is leading 7-6, 6-1 against the man who has seemed so unbeatable for so long. The match on Court 1 was suspended due to rain and will resume on Saturday at 12pm local time. Djokovic led the head-to-head between these two 8-1 until today. The US-American’s only win coming four years ago in Paris on a hard court.

According to the Wimbledon Compendium the probably wettest first week ever was in 1991. There was play on the Middle Sunday, so too in 1997 and 2004. Last year was utterly glorious though. The toughest tournament ever was perhaps the first ever at Church Road, in 1922, when play finally finished on the third Wednesday with the outer courts becoming “a quagmire.”
