GASPAR/STARNBERG, March 22, 2026
It was a historic day in the career of Sao Paulo’s Nauhany Silva. This Sunday, the 16-year-old captured the title at the 56th Banana Bowl, defeating fellow Brazilian Victoria Miranda 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in a hard-fought final lasting two hours and 24 minutes in Gaspar, Santa Catarina.
The match also marked a rare milestone, as it was the first all-Brazilian final at the tournament in four decades. The last time this happened was in 1986, when Gisele Miró defeated Gisele Faria. Silva’s victory also ended a 35-year title drought for Brazilian players at the Banana Bowl, with the last home champion being Roberta Burzagli in 1991.
The triumph in Gaspar caps an extraordinary run for the young player, who has now won three consecutive junior titles and extended her winning streak to 21 matches. Prior to this victory, she claimed titles at the ITF World Tennis Tour J300 in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and the Brasil Juniors Cup (J300) in Porto Alegre.
“What an incredible week—something I’ll carry with me for life,” Silva said. “I’m very happy to win a J500 title. Playing the final against a friend in an all-Brazilian matchup shows the strength of our tennis. The crowd was divided, and it made the match even more special. I managed to impose my rhythm in the first set, missed some chances in the second, but stayed focused, positive, and determined in the third to secure the win. I share this title with my team, my family, my sponsors, and everyone who supports me.”

For Léo Azevedo, Head Coach of Team Rede Tenis, the title reflects Silva’s development process: “We are very happy with her third consecutive title, but above all with her performance over these past weeks. More than the results, what excites us most is the maturity she is showing on court. These were demanding weeks, with long travel and tough matches, and she managed to maintain a high level throughout. The final was very emotional and special, bringing together two Brazilian players in a Banana Bowl final after so many years. We remain grounded and focused on the long term, but these results show we are on the right path. The future is ahead of us.”
