Pablo Llamas Ruiz captured the title of the Montemar ENE Contruccion. The unseeded Spaniard defeated his compatriot and fifth favourite, Pablo Carreno Busta, 6-4, 6-2 in Sunday’s singles final.
Llamas Ruiz booked his spot in the championship match with wins over Belarusian qualifier Ivan Ivashka, US-American qualifier Dali Blanch, Edas Butvilas of Lithuania and Roman Safiullin from Russia.
The 23-year-old from Andalucia sent down two aces, won 81 per cent of his first-service points and 60 per cent of the total points played to succeed in one hour and 23 minutes.

Llamas Ruiz lifted his second Challenger career trophy following his maiden triumph on home soil in Segovia three years ago. The world No. 281 pocketed €23,750 in prize money as well as 100 ATP Ranking points.
The third edition of the Montemar ENE Contruccion offered a total prize pool of €160,680 and was held at the Club Atletico Montemar in Alicante, a vibrant coastal city on Spain’s Mediterranean coast, known for its sunny climate, beautiful beaches, and relaxed lifestyle.
