Sunday’s singles final of the 27th edition of the Croatia Open Umag will feature the tournament’s number four Fabio Fognini against unseeded Andrej Martin.
The world number 39 from Italy ousted Gastao Elias 6-3, 6-3 in the pair’s first tour meeting. Fognini didn’t face a break point, converting three of his own to advance to his first final on the ATP World Tour since Hamburg last year in 65 minutes.

For their first tour meeting, Fognini will take on Andrej Martin, who will appear in his very first title match. The 26-year-old Slovakian defeated Carlos Berlocq 7-6, 6-4. Martin won 58% of his first service points and capitalized on six of his 17 break point opportunities to secure victory in almost two hours of play. The world number 124 reached the third round of the French Open this year and eyes on claiming his first title of the season. On Monday, Martin will also crack the top 100 for the very first time in his career.

Klizan and Marrero claim doubles title
Later the evening, Martin Klizan and David Marrero captured their second doubles title, winning the final against all-Croatian combination of Nikola Mektic and Antonio Sancic 6-4, 6-2 in 59 minutes.
The pair was also successful together in Umag in 2013. Klizan remains unbeaten in ATP World Tour title matches. The Slovakian has a 4-0 career record in ATP World Tour doubles finals and is 5-0 in singles.
“We would like to thank everybody, it’s been a great week. It’s one of the best tournaments in the world. Congratulations to Mektic and Sancic, who also had a great week. We’re really happy with the way we played,” Marrero told.
“It’s a very bitter taste to lose a final but it’s a great feeling. It was a great feeling to play the tournament, to the make the final in the tournament, to feel such a big support from the crowd. It was amazing,” Mektic said.
