VALENCIA/STARNBERG, May 11, 2026

The qualifying stage of the Copa Faulconbridge gets underway this Monday with a highly competitive international field that further strengthens the tournament’s growing reputation on the ATP Challenger Tour.

Among the standout names is Norway’s Nicolai Budkov Kjaer, widely regarded as one of the brightest talents in world tennis after winning the Wimbledon junior title in 2024 and reaching No. 1 in the ITF junior rankings.

Also featured in the qualifying draw is Kazakhstan’s Timofey Skatov, a regular presence on the ATP Challenger circuit and representative of his country in international competition, alongside Italy’s Stefano Napolitano, who brings extensive experience from ATP Tour and Grand Slam main draws.

The field also includes established Challenger Tour players such as Germany’s Henri Squire, US-American Stefan Kozlov, Japan’s Taro Daniel — a former Top 60 player with notable victories at Masters 1000 events — and Switzerland’s Remy Bertola.

Spanish representation in qualifying will be led by Carlos Lopez Montagud, Carlos Sanchez Jover, Alejandro Juan Mano, Sergi Fita Juan, Mario Mansilla Deez and Alejo Sanchez Quilez, several of whom are considered rising talents on the ITF and Challenger circuits.

The main draw also promises exceptional quality, featuring ATP Tour stars including Chile’s Alejandro Tabilo, Argentina’s Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Sebastian Baez, Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff, Belgium’s Zizou Bergs and Spain’s Jaume Munar.

Valencia’s local presence will be highlighted by Roberto Bautista Agut, Pedro Martinez, Bernabe Zapata and Nicolas Alvarez Varona, who represents the Club de Tenis Valencia first team.

Alongside the sporting action, the tournament also paid tribute to one of Spain’s most iconic tennis families. During the official Copa Faulconbridge dinner held on Saturday evening, the Club de Tenis Valencia honored the legendary Sanchez Vicario family — the only family in tournament history whose members have all won the Copa Faulconbridge title.

The ceremony was attended by Emilio and Marisa Sánchez Vicario and included the announcement that Court 2 will officially be named “Pista Sánchez Vicario” throughout the tournament in recognition of the family’s extraordinary legacy and contribution to Spanish and international tennis.
