VICENZA/STARNBERG, May 31, 2026
Lukas Neumayer captured the title at the 19th edition of the Challenger Città di Vicenza – Trofeo FL Service on Sunday, capping an impressive week with a commanding 6-2, 6-2 victory over Italy’s Jacopo Vasami in the final. The 23-year-old Austrian from Salzburg followed up his semifinal win over defending champion Tseng Chun-hsin by delivering another dominant performance to secure his second ATP Challenger 75 title of the season, having also triumphed in Barletta, Italy in March.
Despite the defeat, it was a highly encouraging week for 18-year-old Vasami, who entered the main draw with a wild card from the Italian Tennis Federation. The young Italian produced a series of impressive performances, highlighted by his semifinal victory over top seed Stefano Travaglia. Playing in his first Challenger final, Vasami appeared to be affected by fatigue and a shoulder issue, preventing him from finding consistency throughout the match. Nevertheless, he showed flashes of the talent that has made him one of Italy’s most promising young players.
The wait is OVER 💪

“I want to congratulate Jacopo and his team for a great tournament and for the level they maintained throughout the week,” Neumayer said during the trophy ceremony. “I would also like to thank everyone who made this event possible: the supervisor, the tournament director, the ball kids, the line judges, and all the people working behind the scenes. It’s not easy to spend hours on court in these temperatures. I love playing in Italy and performing in front of such passionate crowds. Finally, thanks to my coach for an amazing week and to my girlfriend, whom I love.”
Tournament Director Enrico Bettini expressed his satisfaction with another successful edition of the event.
“We are extremely pleased with how this 19th edition of the Internazionali di Tennis ‘Città di Vicenza’ unfolded,” Bettini said. “Seeing the stands filled throughout the week has become a tradition, but when I look back to our beginnings as a small ITF Future tournament created to give our players international opportunities, it is still remarkable to see how far we have come. Year after year, we have grown and established ourselves as a respected ATP Challenger 75 event.
“This year confirmed the strength of our project. We are particularly proud to have maintained free admission for all spectators. As a sports club, our primary goal is to promote tennis, and being able to offer this level of competition to young fans and tennis enthusiasts remains our greatest source of pride.
“An event like this is only possible through teamwork. I would like to thank the players, officials, ball kids, the Italian Tennis Federation, and its technical staff. The management of the wild cards worked perfectly this year, and seeing a young Italian talent reach the final proves that we are moving in the right direction.
“I would also like to thank Mayor Giacomo Possamai and Sports Councillor Leone Zilio for their continued support. We will do everything possible to continue this tradition and celebrate the tournament’s 20th edition together in 2027.”
