KITZBÜHEL/STARNBERG, June 24, 2026

The entry list for the 82nd edition of the Generali Open Kitzbühel has been confirmed, and it promises to be one of the strongest in the tournament’s history. The ATP 250 event, which will take place from 18 to 25 July 2026 in the Austrian Alps, features the strongest field since the tournament’s relaunch in 2011.

Since Markus Bodner and Herbert Günther, together with their team, re-established Kitzbühel as an ATP Tour event, the entry cut-off has never been higher. Czech Vit Kopriva, currently ranked No. 68 in the world, is the last player to gain direct acceptance into the main draw. As a result, Kitzbühel also boasts the strongest clay-court field of the summer.

“We have never had such depth in the field since the relaunch,” said tournament director Alexander Antonitsch. “The tournament sits more favourably in the calendar this year, and we are delighted by the strong interest from the players.”

Five ATP Tour Champions in 2026

The quality of the field is underlined by the presence of five players who have already lifted ATP Tour trophies this season. Flavio Cobolli, Alexander Bublik, Tomas Martin Etcheverry, Ignacio Buse and Mariano Navone have all claimed ATP titles in 2026.

Cobolli triumphed in Acapulco, Bublik won in Hong Kong, Etcheverry lifted the trophy in Rio de Janeiro, Navone captured the title in Bucharest, while Buse stunned the tennis world with his breakthrough victory in Hamburg.

Cobolli Leads a Star-Studded Line-Up

World No. 10 and 2026 Roland Garros finalist Flavio Cobolli will make his Kitzbühel debut and is expected to be one of the tournament’s biggest attractions.

Another notable debutant is world No. 20 Valentin Vacherot. The Monegasque will not only be making his first appearance in Kitzbühel but could also be involved in another chapter of a remarkable family rivalry. His cousin, Arthur Rinderknech, is a familiar face in the Austrian Alps, having reached the semi-finals twice in four appearances. A potential rematch of their surprise Shanghai Masters final from last autumn would be one of the standout storylines of the week.

Four Former Champions Return

The tournament will also welcome four former Kitzbühel champions. Defending champion Alexander Bublik, currently ranked No. 11 in the world, returns to defend his title, while Matteo Berrettini, the 2024 champion, is also back in the draw.

Joining them are Miomir Kecmanovic and Sebastian Baez, both former Generali Open winners who add further depth and experience to the field.

Rising Stars and Breakthrough Names

Alongside the established stars, fans can look forward to a number of emerging talents. One of the most intriguing names is Ignacio Buse. The 22-year-old Peruvian, who has German roots, previously competed in Kitzbühel thanks to a wildcard from tournament license holder Octagon. This year he returns as a seeded player following his sensational title run in Hamburg, a development that has delighted tournament organisers.

German Presence and Austrian Wildcards

Germany will be represented in the main draw by Daniel Altmaier and Yannick Hanfmann. Jan-Lennard Struff is currently on the alternate list and, should he not gain direct entry into the main draw, plans to compete in qualifying—another indication of the tournament’s growing appeal.

For the Austrian players, wildcards have been reserved for Sebastian Ofner and Joel Schwaerzler. The latter benefits from a long-term agreement that was established with the tournament last year.

Strong Ticket Demand Ahead of Tournament Week

The excitement surrounding the event is already reflected in ticket sales. Even before the official announcement of the player field, advance sales were significantly ahead of last year’s figures.

The demand has been tremendous,” said the organising team of Herbert Günther, Markus Bodner and tournament CEO Florian Zinnagl. “It shows that anticipation for the tournament week is already very high. Fans can look forward to world-class tennis, big names and plenty of compelling stories.”

The Generali Open Kitzbühel will take place from 18 to 25 July 2026. The week before, from 12 to 19 July, the inaugural Generali Open Ladies, a new WTA 125 event, will make its debut in Kitzbühel.
