British fans had plenty to celebrate on Day 4 at Wimbledon as Arthur Fery produced a superb four-set victory to become the last remaining British player in the men’s and women’s singles draws. His win came after the exits of Katie Swan, Jacob Fearnley and Jan Choinski, ensuring the home challenge now rests solely on Fery’s shoulders.

Elsewhere in the men’s draw, crowd favourite Grigor Dimitrov continued his impressive return to Wimbledon with another significant victory, defeating 15th seed Jakub Mensik in four sets to book his place in the third round.

Second seed Alexander Zverev, fresh from lifting the French Open trophy, also progressed in emphatic fashion, cruising past world No. 75 Valentin Royer in straight sets.

In the women’s singles, defending champion Iga Swiatek maintained her title charge with a commanding straight-sets victory over former finalist Karolina Pliskova, securing her place in the third round. Former Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina was equally impressive, producing a dominant performance to defeat US-American Caty McNally.

History was also made by Alexandra Eala, as the 21-year-old became the first Filipino player to reach the third round of a Grand Slam in the Open Era, marking another milestone in her breakthrough season.
