The quarterfinal lineup at the ITF W100 DISA Gran Canaria-Maspalomas 2026 has been confirmed following an action-packed day of second-round matches at Club Conde Jackson Tennis Maspalomas. Top contenders Dominika Salkova, Arantxa Rus, Andrea Lazaro, Anna Siskova, Laura Pigossi, Berfu Cengiz, Emma Lene and Francesca Curmi remain in contention for the title.

One of the day’s marquee matches featured fifth seed Arantxa Rus against Italian qualifier Isabella Maria Serban, who had impressed throughout the week with her aggressive game and fearless performances. The experienced Dutchwoman prevailed 6-3, 6-4 in a closely contested encounter, ending the qualifier’s excellent tournament run.

The standout match of the day saw fourth seed Andrea Lazaro produce a remarkable comeback against former World No. 36 Nadia Podoroska. The Argentine dominated the opening set without dropping a game, but Lazaro responded brilliantly, raising her level to claim a memorable 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 victory and secure her place in the last eight.

Lazaro is now the only Spanish player left in the singles draw of the World Tennis Tour clay-court event after Madrid’s Maria Garcia Cid and Carmen Gallardo were eliminated earlier in the day by Berfu Cengiz and Francesca Curmi, respectively.

The biggest upset came courtesy of Czech player Anna Siskova, ranked No. 266 in the world, who stunned top seed Julia Grabher in straight sets. Siskova delivered an outstanding performance to defeat the tournament favourite 6-2, 6-3 and book her place in the quarterfinals.

Second seed Dominika Salkova also advanced, overcoming Germany’s Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-3, 7-6(5). The Czech controlled the opening set before surviving a much tougher second set that was decided in a tiebreak.

Elsewhere, Brazil’s Laura Pigossi defeated Germany’s Caroline Werner, while France’s Emma Lene advanced with a straight-sets victory over Finland’s Laura Hietaranta.

Friday’s quarterfinal schedule begins at 10:00 a.m. local time at Club Conde Jackson Tennis Maspalomas. The matchups are Dominika Salkova versus Arantxa Rus, Andrea Lázaro against Laura Pigossi, Anna Siskova versus Berfu Cengiz, and Emma Lene taking on Francesca Curmi. Admission is free until the venue reaches capacity.
