The semifinal lineup at the ITF W100 DISA Gran Canaria Maspalomas 2026 is complete following an exciting day of quarterfinal action at the Club Conde Jackson Tennis Maspalomas. Second seed Dominika Salkova of the Czech Republic, Brazil’s Laura Pigossi, Turkish qualifier Berfu Cengiz and Malta’s Francesca Curmi all secured victories to move within one win of the championship match.
Salkova opened the day with an impressive performance against fifth seed Arantxa Rus. The Czech relied on her outstanding consistency, defensive skills and physical presence to overcome the experienced Dutchwoman 6-4, 6-3. Although Rus fought back repeatedly and threatened to turn the match around, Salkova remained composed to become the first semifinalist.
Spain’s hopes came to an end when fourth seed Andrea Lazaro was defeated by Brazil’s Laura Pigossi. The São Paulo native produced an energetic display, using her speed and relentless counterpunching to dictate the long baseline exchanges before sealing a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
One of the tournament’s biggest surprises continues to be qualifier Berfu Cengiz. The 26-year-old Turk, who advanced through qualifying, extended her remarkable run by defeating Czech player Anna Siskova 6-4, 7-5. Siskova had eliminated top seed Julia Grabher earlier in the week, but Cengiz once again demonstrated her fighting spirit and consistency to reach the last four.

The final semifinal place went to Malta’s Francesca Curmi after her opponent, France’s Emma Lene, retired with the match level at one set all.
Saturday’s semifinals will feature Salkova against Pigossi, while Cengiz will take on Curmi. Play begins at 11:00 a.m. local time at the Club Conde Jackson Tennis Maspalomas.
Salkova Also Reaches Doubles Final
Salkova remains in contention for a remarkable doubles and singles title sweep after also reaching the doubles final on Friday.
In the opening doubles semifinal, Kazakhstan’s Zhibek Kulambayeva and Czech partner Anna Siskova, the No. 2 seeds, edged Portugal’s Francisca and Matilde Jorge in a tightly contested encounter, winning both sets in tiebreaks after more than two hours on court.
The second semifinal followed a similar script, with third seeds Dominika Salkova and Sweden’s Lisa Zaar defeating Australia’s Gabriella Da Silva Fick and Tenika McGiffin in another straight-sets victory decided by two tiebreaks.
Kulambayeva and Siskova will face Salkova and Zaar in Saturday’s doubles final, scheduled for 3:30 p.m. local time. With a place in both finals, Salkova remains on course for a memorable double triumph in Maspalomas.
