The 52 nations competing in the 2026 Davis Cup World Group I & World Group II this month have announced their teams, with the world’s best preparing to represent their nations across the globe.
World No. 7 Alex de Minaur (Australia) and Grand Slam finalists Casper Ruud (Norway) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (Greece) are among those set to lead their teams across 26 World Group I & II ties on 18-20 September.
Ahead of his upcoming retirement at the end of this year, Stan Wawrinka will represent Switzerland for the final time against a Brazil team lead by Joao Fonseca. Wawrinka famously led his nation to the Davis Cup title alongside Roger Federer in 2014.
Elsewhere, Denmark’s home tie against Bulgaria will feature returns for both nations’ top players, with Grigor Dimitrov due to make a first Davis Cup appearance since 2015 and Holger Rune scheduled to make his comeback from injury.
Other stars nominated to represent their nations include Nuno Borges (Portugal), Ignacio Buse (Peru), Francisco Cerundolo (Argentina), Tallon Griekspoor (Netherlands) and Valentin Vacherot (Monaco).

World Group II team nominations
Ties will be played as best-of-five matches, with two singles matches on day one, followed by the doubles match and the two reverse singles matches on day two. All matches are played as best-of-three tiebreak sets.
The ties take place over a bumper weekend of Davis Cup action where 66 teams will compete in 33 ties across six continents in Qualifiers 2nd Round, World Group I & II.
What’s at stake
Winning nations from World Group I will play in the 2027 Qualifiers 1st Round in February, beginning next season with a chance of winning the Davis Cup title at the end of the year.
Losing nations in World Group I and winning nations in World Group II will compete in the 2027 World Group I Play-offs in February.
Losing nations from the World Group II will compete in the 2027 World Group II Play-offs in February, alongside the best-performing nations from the 2026 regional Group III events.
