Draxl was broken in the sixth game of the second set and in the seventh game of the third set, which decided both sets.
It was the third straight three-set match for the 24-year-old Canadian who beat No. 3 seed Darwin Blanch in the quarterfinals and qualifier Sebastian Dominko in the semifinals after saving two match points.
Draxl, who is a member of Canada’s Davis Cup team which will play Czechia in the quarterfinals on Nov. 24, improved his PIF ATP Ranking from No. 194 to No. 166. He was appearing in his second Challenger final of the season after a runner-up in Winnipeg in July.
