The final round of the qualifying at the €64,000 Sparkassen ATP Challenger Val Gardena is set. The top seed Yannick Jankovits defeated Andrea Vavassori on Sunday 6-3, 7-5 in one hour and 30 minutes to reach the stage of the final eight. The world number 352 from France will next take on Alexandr Igoshin of Russia for a spot in the main draw.
Croatian Dino Marcan will square off with Andrej Kapas from Poland, Julien Dubail of Belgium will face Viktor Galovic from Croatia and 2010 Ortisei champion Michal Przysiezny will play Luca Pancaldi of Italy.
Main draw will also kick off on Monday headlined by local wild card Patrick Prader taking on fellow Italian and the tournament’s number seven Federico Gaio in the last match on Centre Court. The 30-year-old from South Tyrol emerged victorious from the only previous meeting between the two at the ITF Future event in Appiano in 2014.
