LONDON, November 19, 2016
The ATP and French tennis equipment manufacturer Tecnifibre have announced a three-year extension of their partnership. The agreement sees Tecnifibre continue as a Silver Partner of the ATP World Tour through to 2020.
The Paris-based global manufacturer will continue to produce the Official Racquet, String, Bag and Accessories of the ATP World Tour, and will remain a Silver Partner of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals as well as the official stringing service of the tournament.
Chris Kermode, ATP Executive Chairman & President said, “Tecnifibre has been a great partner to the ATP World Tour since 2013. Tecnifibre offers a terrific range of co-branded performance products and has provided a world class level of service to our players as the Official Stringer of the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership for a further three years.”
Pierre Bayssat, Managing Director, Tecnifibre, said, “We do not change a winning combination! Tecnifibre looks to develop internationally and the ATP is a worldwide platform. In addition, our “On the Road” programme compliments the vision of the ATP. It is a partnership which allows us to add value to our products and which gives us unique opportunities for brand content. It was therefore logical to extend the partnership.”
The partnership will see the continuation of the “On the Road” to the ATP World Tour programme, including the Young Guns contest, a promotional initiative targeted towards a younger generation of both players and fans. The programme places emphasis on player performance, combined with social media engagement, allowing fans to follow the progress of young players as they make strides onto the ATP World Tour.
This year’s Young Guns contest initiative was won by 20-year-old Russian Daniil Medvedev, who broke into the Top 100 of the Emirates ATP Rankings by finishing the season at No. 98.
