Six Top 50 Players Are Coming To Sofia In February

World No. 8 Dominic Thiem, Belgium’s David Goffin, local favourite Grigor Dimitrov, defending champion Roberto Bautista-Agut and last year’s runner-up Viktor Troicki had already announced to compete at the 2017 Garanti Koza Sofia Open, held in the Arena Armeec from 5 to 12 February.

The quintet will be joined by Germany’s No. 2 Philipp Kohlschreiber and Russian veteran Mikhail Youzhny. In 2016, Kohlschreiber reached the quarterfinals in Bulgaria’s capital with victories over Sergiy Stakhovsky from the Ukraine and Damir Dzumhur of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He eventually fell to Viktor Troicki.

The 33-year-old captured his seventh ATP title after defeating Dominic Thiem in the final of the BMW Open in Munich. Kohlschreiber finished the season, ranked World No. 32.

Mikhail Youzhny, who reached the semi-finals of the US Open twice (2006 and 2010), and the quarterfinals of the Australian Open (2008), the French Open (2010) as well as Wimbledon (2012), and has 10 ATP titles and two Davis Cup titles under his belt, is back in the Top 100.

The 34-year-old from Moscow advanced to the quarterfinals in Stuttgart, Gstaad and St. Petersburg in 2016. He is the currently ranked World No. 57.
