TUNIS, February 4, 2017
Johan Brunstrom and Andreas Siljestrom give Sweden a 2-1 lead over Tunisia after Saturday’s doubles at the first round of the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas Group II Africa/Europe, held at Tennis courts of Cité Nationale Sportive El Menzah in Tunis.
The Swedish tandem defeated Anis Ghorbel and Malek Jaziri 6-3, 7-5, 7-6. Brunstrom and Siljestrom, who made his Davis Cup debut, capitalized on four of their nine break point chances, winning 114 of the 214 total points played to seal victory in two hours and 36 minutes.
Consequently, Tunisia will have to win both of the reverse singles rubbers on Sunday, when Malek Jaziri takes on Patrik Rosenholm and Mohamed Aziz Dougaz will face Isak Arvidsson. Both pairs have never met before on the tour.
