Jerzy Janowicz opened his Bergamo campaign with a 6-3, 6-4 victory over eighth seed Maximilian Marterer of Germany in one of three remaining first round matches at the €64,000 Internazionali di Tennis Trofeo Faip-Perrel held on Wednesday.
