Gerasimov Wins St. Brieuc Challenger Title

SAINT BRIEUC, April 2, 2017

Egor Gerasimov has become the lowest ranked ATP Challenger champion this season, winning Sunday’s final of the €43,000 Open Harmonie Mutuelle at the Salle Steredenn in Saint Brieuc. The World No. 404, who battled through the qualifying, beat the tournament’s number eight Tobias Kamke of Germany 7-6, 7-6.

In a very close encounter, both players lost their service once but Gerasimov won six points more than his opponent to celebrate his second ATP Challenger career title following his triumph in Bratislava 2015 after one hour and 51 minutes.

The 24-year old from Belarus takes away €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP Ranking points.
