There are still 80 days to go until the start of the €85,000 Open Castilla y León, held on hard courts at the Villa de El Espinar from 29 July to 6 August 2017.

The organizers launched the 32nd edition of the ATP Challenger event by meeting the media during the Mutua Madrid Open on Monday. Tournament director Virginia Ruano was joined by former Grand Slam champion Manolo Santana, Spanish Davis Cup and Fed Cup captain Conchita Martínez as well as the president of the Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET) Miguel Díaz at the stand of SetBall Radio and Radio Marca located inside the Caja Mágica.

The touranment’s defending champion is Luca Vanni from Italy, who beat Ukrainian Illya Marchenko in last year’s final to capture his first Segovia crown. The organizers await an international line-up for 2017 again, mixed with a strong group of Spanish players. Besides the men’s event, an ITF Women’s tournament is taking place the same week.
