The winners of Rendez-Vous à Roland-Garros in partnership with Longines, Anri Nagata of Japan and Abhimanyu Vannemreddy from India, have been awarded wildcards for the main girls’ and boys’ singles draws, which will take place from 4 to 10 June at Roland-Garros stadium.
In the finals, played on Court No.6, Anri Nagata and Abhimanyu Vannemreddy respectively defeated US-American Cori Cauff and Hikaru Shiraishi of Japan.
Six boys and six girls aged under 18 took part in the final stage of this operation, which took place at the C.A. Montrouge courts yesterday, Friday 26 May. These juniors hailed from six different countries: China, India, Brazil, Japan, South Korea and the United States.
They qualified at clay-court tournaments in their home countries earlier this year: in Yokohama, Japan (Yokohama Country and Athletic Club), from 28 February to 3 March; Florianopolis, Brazil (Lagoa Iate Club) from 9 to 12 March; Nanjing, China (China Tennis Academy), from 14 to 17 March; Delhi, India (Delhi Lawn Tennis Association), from 17 to 19 April; Miami, United States (Boca West Country Club), from 19 to 22 April; and Seoul, South Korea (Seoul Ansung Tennis Club), from 27 April to 1 May. In all, 667 players participated in these qualifying stages.
