STUTTGART, June 1, 2017
Roger Federer will open his MercedesCup campaign, held from 10 to 18 June 2017 at the venue of the Tennis Club Weissenhof in Stuttgart, on Wednesday, 14 June. The World No. 5 decided to skip the entire clay court season and will return to the courts at the ATP 250 grass court event. It will also mark his first appearance on European soil this season.
“There are still tickets available for his first match on Wednesday but there are only a few left for the final weekend,” tournament director Edwin Weindorfer announced.
The 39th edition of the MercedesCup will start on 10 June with the first round of the qualifying. The next day, Michael Berrer will compete for a very last time in his home town of Stuttgart in an exhibition doubles event.
Main draw matches will start on Monday, 12 June. German players such as Mischa Zverev, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Florian Mayer, Jan-Lennard Struff and Tommy Haas will step into action on Tuesday, 13 June.
