Vicenza Challenger Semi-Finals Are Set

Serbians Laslo Djere and Filip Krajinovic headlined Friday’s quarterfinals action at the €43,000 Internazionali di Tennis Die Citta Di Vicenza. Djere emerged victorious from a tough fight, winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-4.

The seventh seed sent down five aces and broke Krajinovic’s serve five times to prevail in two hours and 21 minutes. Djere will next face Lorenzo Giustino, the last Italian standing at the Circolo Tennis Palladio 98. The 25-year-old from Naples battled past Spanish veteran Daniel Munoz de la Nava, rallying 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in one hour and 54 minutes.

Marton Fucsovics from Hungary eased past Italian Matteo Donati 7-5, 6-1 in just under one hour of play to meet Jan Satral in the semi-finals. The World No. 161 from the Czech Republic dismissed Italian wild card entry Matteo Berrettini 7-6, 6-3 in one hour and 22 minutes.

In Saturday’s doubles final, Gero Kretschmer and Alexander Satschko from Germany will take on US-American Sekou Bangoura and Tristan-Samuel Weissborn of Austria.
