The qualifying draw for the Aegon Championships has been made, with top seed and ATP World Tour #NextGen star Frances Tiafoe playing British wildcard Liam Broady in a first round clash at The Queen’s Club.
The winner of that clash will play either Denis Shapovalov of Canada or big-serving US-American Reilly Opelka for a place in the main draw.
Elsewhere, Ed Corrie, another British wildcard, faces a tough test against Frenchman Jeremy Chardy, a former world No.25.
Pierre Hugues-Herbert, one half of the reigning doubles champions at The Queen’s Club, begins his bid to qualify against Stefano Napolitano of Italy .
Qualifying will be played from 11am on Saturday 17th June and from 12 noon Sunday 18th June, with eight matches scheduled for Saturday and four on Sunday. Entry to the grounds is free of charge but limited to 500 people.
Main draw ceremony will take place on Saturday at 12 noon local time and will be streamed live on the tournament facebook page (www.facebook.com/queenstennis).
The Aegon Championships line-up will be led by the World No.1 and defending champion Andy Murray, the reigning US Open champion Stan Wawrinka, 2014 winner Grigor Dimitrov, and last year’s runner-up Milos Raonic. Nick Kyrgios, Jo Wilfried Tsonga, Marin Cilic and Tomas Berdych are also part of the field.
