VIENNA, July 23, 2017
Organizers of the Erste Bank Open 500 announced on Sunday that young gun Alexander Zverev will play at the ATP 500 event, held at the Stadthalle in Vienna from 21 to 29 October 2017.
The 20-year-old German is the leader of the #NextGenATP stars and currently ranked at World No. 11. Earlier this weekend, Zverev confirmed that former Roland Garros champion Juan-Carlos Ferrero is joining his coaching team for the following weeks during the American hard court season.
“Tennis experts agree that Alexander Zverev as well as Dominic Thiem will make an impact on the ATP World Tour in the next couple of years. We are pleased that Alexander will join the line-up in Vienna this year,” tournament director Herwig Straka told.
“We follow the progress of the young players closely and I am pretty sure that some more of the Next Gens will compete in our tournament this year,” he added.
