Cameron Norrie captured his first ATP Challenger title, winning Sunday’s final of the 24th Levene Gouldin & Thompson Tennis Challenger against top-seed Jordan Thompson 6-4, 0-6, 6-4.

The 21-year-old Briton came back from 1-4, 0-30 down in the decider to secure victory in one hour and 58 minutes.

“Winning my first Challenger title in Binghamton has been great,” Norrie stated following his victory.

“Thompson broke me twice in the second set and my serve was a bit off, I think it started to get to me
mentally. He won some of the longer rallies where he needed to, but once I broke him in the third set
and got two aces on him in the deciding game, I knew I could finish it.”

Norrie takes away $10,800 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points. He is the third British champion in Binghamton,  joining 2005 winner Andy Murray and 2015 titlist Kyle Edmund.

Earlier in the day, US-Americans Denis Kudla and Daniel Nguyen clinched the doubles title with a 6-3, 7-6 win over Jarry Chaplin and Luke Saville. The encounter lasted one hour and 24 minutes.
