MANERBIO, August 25, 2017
Elias Ymer will be the only unseeded player appearing in the semi-finals of the €43,000 Internazionali di Manerbio Trofeo “Dimmidisi”. The 21-year-old from Sweden defeated fellow #NextGenATP player Carlos Taberner of Spain 7-6, 7-5 in the stage of the final eight on Friday.

The Stockholm resident gained his third and decisive break in the 11th game of the second set to serve out in the following. The encounter lasted one hour and 42 minutes.
Ymer, who captured his third ATP Challenger trophy in Cordenons last Sunday, will next take on the tournament’s top seed Guillermo Garcia-López. The World No. 136 from Spain edged past Oscar Otte of Germany 7-6, 6-0 in one hour and 17 minutes.
Roberto Carballés-Baena rallied from a set down to overcome Italy’s qualifier Lorenzo Sonego 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 to set a semi-final-clash with fellow Spaniard Tommy Robredo. The 35-year-old from Hostalric beat second favourite Adam Pavlasek from the Czech Republic 6-4, 6-2. Robredo secured victory in 61 minutes.
