MADRID, September 25, 2017
Corentin Moutet of France captured his second ITF Pro Circuit title of the season, winning Sunday’s singles final of the $25,000 Trofeo Coca Cola, held on indoor clay at the Ciudad de la Raqueta in Madrid.
The only 18-year-old leftie beat Spaniard Guillermo Olaso 6-4, 6-1. Moutet, who advanced to the ATP Challenger semi-finals in Como and Sevilla, capitalized on three of his seven break point chances to secure victory in one hour and 18 minutes. The teenager did not drop a set all week.
“It was a great week and a very good final,” Moutet was pleased afterwards.
By lifting his fourth ITF Futures trophy, Moutet takes away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points. He will reach a new career high on Monday at World No. 254.
