King To Face Norrie In Stockton Challenger Final

Darian King and Cameron Norrie will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the $100,000 Stockton Challenger held at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center on the campus of University of the Pacific.

King edged past US-American Tim Smyczek 6-1, 6-4. The sixth seed from Barbados won 58 per cent of the total points played to secured victory in one hour and 14 minutes.

Norrie beat the tournament’s number three Michael Mmoh 7-5, 6-2 to reach his third straight final. The 22-year-old Briton, who captured the Tiburon Challenger title last weekend, sent down four aces, winning 53 per cent of his first service points to prevail after one hour and 33 minutes.

Norrie won the only previous meeting between the two in the final round of the qualifying in Dallas 2015. He could clinch his third ATP Challenger title of the season. King eyes his first trophy of the season.
