Hanfmann Advances At Wolffkran Open Ismaning

Yannick Hanfmann headlined second round action of the €43,000 WOLFFKRAN Open held at the Sportpark Ismaning on Wednesday evening.

The third seed from Karlsruhe emerged victorious from the all-German-affair with Jeremy Jahn 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. Hanfmann fired 18 aces, winning 83 per cent of his first service points to prevail after one hour and 52 minutes.

He will next take on Tristan Lamasine of France, who rallied past Igor Sijsling from the Netherlands 4-6, 6-1, 7-6. The encounter lasted two hours and 10 minutes.

Val Gardena Challenger champion Lorenzo Sonego keeps rolling. The World No. 265 from Italy, who lifted his maiden trophy on the ATP Challenger Tour in Ortisei last Sunday, fired 15 aces and won 81 per cent of his first service points to secure a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory over Spanish #NextGenATP player Bernabé Zapata Miralles. Sonego converted his first match points after one hour and 45 minutes.

He will play local favourite Daniel Masur in the quarterfinals. The 22-year-old from Munich eased past Russian lucky loser Shalva Dzhannashia 6-2, 6-3 in only 61 minutes.

Earlier in the day, Italians Matteo Donati and fifth seed Salvatore Caruso as well as Spaniard Pedro Martínez and German wild card entry Tim Pütz opened their Ismaning campaign with a first round win.
