Friday was a busy day for Russian Evgeny Karlovskiy. The top seed in singles at the $15,000 NTV-ITF Future Nord, held on carpet at the LAZ Niedersaechsischer Tennisverband in Bad Salzdetfurth, had advanced to the semi-finals before he was crowned doubles champion later in the day.
In his singles quarterfinal match, Karlovskiy benefited from the retirement of Frenchman Jonathan Kanar leading 6-2, 1-0. The World No. 384 will next take on sixth favourite Elmar Ejupovic of Germany, who rallied past Polish qualifier Karol Drzewiecki 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 in two hours and 26 minutes.

German teenager Marvin Möller advanced to his second semi-final at the ITF Pro Circuit after reaching the stage of the final four in Sion in August this year. The 18-year-old, who enterd the main draw with a wild card, cruised past Slovakian Patrik Nema 6-2, 6-3. Möller capitalized on four of his nine break point chances to finish the encounter in only 64 minutes.
The World No. 904 will next challenge Lucas Catarina. The third seed from Monaco defeated Lukas Rüpke from Germany 6-4, 4-6, 7-6. Catarina struck 11 aces, winning 73 per cent of his first service points to prevail after two hours and 35 minutes.
Later in the day, Alexander Igoshin and Evgeny Kalovskiy teamed up to upset the second seeds in the doubles final. The Russians beat the German tandem of Tom Schönenberg and Jakob Sude 6-3, 6-7, 12-10 in one hour and 24 minutes to clinch the title.
