Corentin Moutet clinched his first title on the ATP Challenger Tour, winning Sunday’s final of the €106,500 Open Brest Arena Crédit Agricole 6-2, 7-6 against Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece.

In the first all-teen final of 2017 and in front of with 3,400 spectators packed stands, 18-year-old Moutet saved both break points he faced, converting two of his own to seal victory in one hour and 37 minutes.

“I’m really happy to have won a tournament as big as this one. Paradoxically it is never easy in France, with the pressure of the public, the media. It was my first Challenger final with a lot of people attending and honestly I was very nervous but I did not want to show it to my opponent,” said Moutet, who entered the main draw with a wild card.

“I started the match very well, which helped me for the rest of the encounter. I proved to others and to myself that I could beat very good players this week. This confidence I gained will help me in the future but this is not the end. I hope this victory will be a springboard for me.”

The #NextGenATP player earns €15,700 in prize money as well as 110 ATP ranking points. He is projected to reach a new career high sitting on World No. 160 on Monday. Moutet will next play in Germany at the ATP Challenger event in Eckental.

Earlier in the day, Sander Arends from the Netherlands and Antonio Sancic of Croatia took the doubles title. The pair defeated Briton Scott Clayton and Divij Sharan of India 6-4, 7-5. The final lasted one hour and seven minutes.
