Ymer Wins Mouilleron-Le-Captif ATP Challenger

MOUILLERON-LE-CAPTIF, November 13, 2017

Elias Ymer clinched his second ATP Challenger title of the season, winning Sunday’s singles final of the €85,000 Internationaux de Vendée in Mouilleron-le-Captif. The #NextGenATP Swede defeated Yannick Maden of Germany 7-5, 6-4.

Unseeded Ymer sent down five aces, winning 72 per cent of his first service points and broke his opponent four times to prevail after one hour and 35 minutes.

By lifting the trophy in western France, Ymer earns €12,250 in prize money as well as 100 ATP ranking points. Earlier in the season, the 21-year-old from Stockholm captured his third ATP Challenger career title in Cordenons. Ymer has vaulted to World No. 146, solidifying his place in the Top 150 to conclude the 2017 season.

Andre Begemann from Germany and Frenchman Jonathan Eysseric took the doubles crown. The pair edged past Tomasz Bednarek of Poland and David Pel from the Netherlands 6-3, 6-4. The encounter lasted one hour and five minutes.
