Andy Murray and Ivan Lendl announced on Friday that they have mutually agreed to end their coaching relationship. During the partnership, over two separate periods, the 30-year-old Briton clinched three Grand Slam titles, two Olympic Golds and obtained the World No. 1 in the ATP-rankings.

“I’m thankful to Ivan for all his help and guidance over the years, we’ve had great success and learned a lot as a team,” Murray stated on his official website.

“My focus now is on getting ready for Australia with the team I have in place and getting back to competing.”

Murray has targeted a competitive return in Brisbane at the turn of the year and hopes to be fully fit for the first Grand Slam of the season, the Australian Open in Melbourne. Murray had played his last match in the quarterfinals in Wimbledon before a hip injury cut his season short.

Lendl, who will continue to work with USTA Player Development, said: “I wish Andy well going forward. We had a great run and a lot of fun.”
