Maximilian Neuchrist of Austria has concluded his journey to the Persian Gulf by winning his third consecutive title of the ITF Pro Circuit hard court swing in Kuwait on Sunday. The 26-year-old lifted the trophy at the $15,000 Futures event in Meshref, held at the local Sports Club. Second seeded Neuchrist defeated Frenchman and the tournament’s number three Baptiste Crepatte, 7-5, 6-4. The final lasted one hour and 36 minutes.
Neuchrist had also clinched the singles titles prior to this week. The Vienna native beat Italian Alessandro Bega in the final of the first event, held from 31 October to 4 November, 7-6, 6-3. In the title match of the second tournament, Neuchrist edged past Kristian Lozan of Russia, 7-5, 6-1. He only dropped two sets en route to his triple triumph.
Neuchrist earned $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points for each tournament win in the desert. He moved up 27 spots in the ATP rankings, currently sitting at World No. 256.
