As part of the organizers’ meeting of the German Masters Series in Überlingen last weekend, the MLP Cup in Nussloch was honored as the best tournament of the year. The 15th edition of the $25,000 ITF Pro Circuit event will be held at the Racket Center Nußloch from 22 January – 28 January 2018.

“I always wanted to win this award for my tournament. It certainly helps us to make the tournament even more attractive,” tournament director Dr. Matthias Zimmermann said.

“For many years, the MLP Cup has been an educational project for students. As part of a practical semester, they organize and plan the event with the aim of developing the tournament each year. That’s our philosophy. We have a village for the sponsors, a VIP lounge and different groups are invited every evening. Then there is a very well working co-operation with the Badische Tennis Association. We are also proud to welcome 400 spectators per day at our venue.”

2010 Wimbledon doubles champion Philipp Petzschner, Rio Olympics silver medalist Florin Mergea, former top 10 Gael Monfils as well as a couple of German Davis Cup players competed in the indoor event. Defending champion is Mats Moraing.
