Alexander Ward captured his second ITF Pro Circuit title in as many weeks as he secured a straight sets victory over US-American qualifier Danny Thomas in the final of the $25,000 Oracle USTA Pro Circuit Collegiate Series, held at the Hurd Tennis Center of the Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
The fifth seed from Great Britain, who lifted his first trophy of the season in Columbus last weekend, proved to be too strong for the teenager, who appeared in his first Futures title match, as he powered to a 6-1, 6-1 win.
Ward sent down six aces and broke serve six times to finish the encounter in one hour and eight minutes. The World No. 373 clinched his 16th ITF Pro Circuit career crown, taking away $3,600 in prize money as well as 25 ATP ranking points.
