Cilic And Coach Bjorkmann Part Ways

Marin Cilic has confirmed he has split from coach Jonas Bjorkman ahead of the 2018 season. The 29-year-old Croatian, who achieved a career high of World No. 4 in October, had worked with the Swede since the summer of 2016.

Cilic appeared in his second Grand Slam final at Wimbledon after lifting the trophy at the 2014 US Open earlier this year but lost to Roger Federer. He fell to 1-8 lifetime at Nitto ATP Finals with losses to Alexander Zverev, Jack Sock and Federer at last month’s Nitto ATP Finals in London.

“We had some great results during 16 months and established an amazing relationship,” Cilic stated in a social media message. “It was a great pleasure to work with him.

“Would like to thank him for all his efforts and wish him the best.”
