Four seeded players have completed the quarterfinals line-up of the $50,000 Bangkok Open on Thursday. Top seed Marcel Granollers beat Flavio Cipolla from Italy 6-3, 6-1. The World No. 149 from Spain saved five of the six break points he faced, converting five of his own to prevail after one hour and 19 minutes.
Next up for Granollers will be Yusuke Takahashi. The seventh favourite from Japan rallied from a set down to overcome Emil Ruusuvuori of Finland 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Takahashi won 70 per cent of his first service points to seal victory in one hour and 48 minutes.
Enrique López-Pérez, the tournament’s number two, defeated Alessandro Bega of Italy 6-3, 6-4. The 26-year-old Spaniard advanced to stage of the final eight after 63 minutes to play Matteo Viola next. The eighth seed from Italy beat local favourite Wishaya Trangcharoenchaikul 6-4, 7-6 in one hour and 29 minutes.
