Nicola Kuhn opened his season with a first round win at the €43,000 Koblenz Open. In a battle between two #NextGenATP players, the 17-year-old Spaniard defeated Swedish qualifier Mikael Ymer 6-3, 6-3.
Kuhn saved all five break points he faced, converting three of his own to secure victory in one hour and 15 minutes.

The teenager will next challenge third seed Sergiy Stakhovsky. The World No. 120 from the Ukraine defeated Belgian qualifier Joris de Loore 6-2, 6-3. The encounter lasted one hour and 11 minutes.
Oscar Otte of Germany, seeded fourth, fell to Alexey Vatutin from Russia 7-6, 6-3. The 25-year-old Volgograd native won 53 per cent of the total points played to advance in one hour and 18 minutes. Vatutin will next take on Polish youngster Hubert Hurkacz, who edged past Attila Balazs from Hungary 6-4, 6-2.
