Daniel Munoz de la Nava was the man of the first two ITF Pro Circuit events of the season on Spanish soil. The 36-year-old lefty finished runner-up to Evgeny Tyurnev of Russia in the first tournament from 15 to 21 January held in Manacor, Mallorca, at the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar.
In the following week, Munoz de la Nava took the title of the $15,000 clay court Futures. On Sunday, the Spanish veteran fought past No. 2 seed Lorenzo Giustino of Italy 6-4, 5-7, 6-3. After clinching four titles on the ATP Challenger Tour, it was the seventh ITF Pro Circuit trophy for Munoz de la Nava.
He earns $2,160 in prize money as well as 18 ATP ranking points, moving up 14 spots to World No. 276.
The ITF Pro Circuit stays in Mallorca this week for the V ITF Paguera Pro Circuit.
