Top seed Matteo Berrettini and fellow Italian Stefano Napolitano will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the €64,000 Internazionali di Tennis Trofeo Faip-Perrel in Bergamo. Berrettini battled past No. 3 seed Jurgen Zopp of Estonia 6-3, 6-7, 6-1 on Saturday evening.

The 21-year-old from Rome sent down eight aces, winning 74 per cent of his first service points to reach his first ATP Challenger final since Istanbul in September last year. The encounter lasted two hours and two minutes.

Napolitano defeated compatriot Lorenzo Sonego 6-3, 7-6. The World No. 207 from Biella capitalized on three of his four break point chances to prevail after one hour and 31 minutes.

Berrettini could lift his second ATP Challenger singles trophy following his triumph on clay in San Benedetto last year. Napolitano, who leads 2-0 in head-to-head records between the two, could also claim his second ATP Challenger title. His first victory came in Ortisei two years ago.

Earlier in the day, Scott Clayton and Jonny O’Mara of Great Britain captured the doubles title with a 7-5, 3-6, 15-13 victory over Laurynas Grigelis from Lithuania and Aleassandro Motti of Italy. The final lasted one hour and 34 minutes.
